Working Group Strands

In this working group strand, eduFAB brings together teachers, administrators, universities, non profits, Fab Labs, and other makerspaces who are working in the intersection of digital fabrication and K-12 learning. This working group strand is an extension of the International Fab Educators Summit which is an annual virtual meeting of network members across the globe. The working day will feature project sharing, introductions and networking time, as well as focused discussions on member identified topics, specific to K-12 learning. Both formal and informal educators and makerspaces are invited to join this network.

Blue collar jobs are now digital New Collar jobs incorporating technologies like CAD design, laser and CNC machining, robotics, 3D Printing, microelectronics, AR/VR, and more. While specialized training is required, these jobs that lead to well-paying, engaging lifelong careers often do not require a college degree.

This strand will demonstrate how the New Collar Network has disrupted traditional workforce training by developing and implementing new models that grew out of the project-based learning in Fab Labs.

Join other members of the community as we discuss the challenges, successes, and unique accommodations for operating a mobile Fab Lab program in any community.
